BUILDING

RENOV 2000   PAGE ON THIS SITE Dept 22
"Renov2000 carried out extensive work on our property in Bretagne from a gutted shell. the work included new floors ,re plastering, new electrics including heaters, new windows, sewage connection and fitting new bathrooms and kitchen. They have also fitted plaster board throughout and laid a driveway and patio area. All work was to the highest standard and all members of the company were polite and helpful at all times. I would recommend them to anyone.  Mark Woods Maw@Berry.uk.com

"Renov 2000 carried out major refurbishment on our property in Brittany. The work was carried out to a high specification and being able to leave the project in the hands of an English speaking local general builder meant for an easy life compared to marshalling individual artisans on a major refurbishment project. E-mail updates for easy communication means that the inevitable problems that arise on such projects can be handled, with the work coming in on time and on budget. I would have no hesitation in recommending Renov2000"
Jeremy Marquand jmarquand@cwgsy.net

"Renov 2000 a posé la faïence et la porte de douche dans notre salle de bain et posé du placo dans notre garage. Le travail a été bien fait, très propre et professionnel. Nous sommes très content du travail effectué, nous recommmandons cette entreprise"

Steve & Wendy Foster Renovations  PAGE ON THIS SITE Depts 22, 29 & 56
"Steve and Wendy have just completed major renovation work at our stone house in Finistere. They are extremely helpful with loads of advice, guidance & knowledge. Internal walls, doors, floor, beams and full electrics installed to all the regulations & work has been completed to a very high standard, meeting every timescale agreed. Their weekly E mail update service is particularly useful. A great job we are delighted with."
Mrs & Mrs Draper keith.draper4@btinternet.com

"I have worked with Steve and Wendy Foster for the past 3 years on a refurbishment project in Chateauneuf du Faou. Their approach is open, honest and friendly. The advice they have given me and the support to a part DIY, part professional project has been extraordinarily helpful.
Reasonably priced and with an admirable philosophy of supporting Brits who want to engage with the French way of life, I can highly recommend this hard working duo!"

"We found Steve and Wendy Foster to be professional, understanding, knowledgeable and extremely flexible in their dealings with us. The resulting quality of the work was first class! Despite being faced with the challenge of long distance communication (living in Japan while having work done on your home in Brittany was never going to be easy, we thought), Steve kept us fully abreast of the situation and constantly informed us of progress. He was also very flexible when we were forced at the last minute to change the scope of work somewhat and he proactively worked with us to seek a solution without complicating matters. And all of this was done within the agreed time frame (a couple of days ahead of schedule!) and good value for money.
We have already booked our next project with Steve and Wendy and have no qualms about recommending them further. They work with their clients in a timely, creative and professional manner to offer great value for money and excellent workmanship."  Desmond Joseph

"When years ago we bought an old farm, we soon discovered that enthusiasm was not enough to renovate it: we needed professionals.  In Steve and Wendy we found them: good listeners, good advisors and realizing all kind of jobs. New stairs, installing a kitchen, a bathroom, electricity, water, doors and windows, every job you can think of and always using good materials in the right way and completely to our satisfaction. With Steve and Wendy we have more than 10 years experience and we highly recommend them to you for all kind of jobs."

CHARLES HAIGH   PAGE ON THIS SITE  Dept 22
"My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending Charles Haigh's services. He has undertaken a programme of repairs upon our future home during the course of this year. We have found him to be both conscientious and resourceful, both qualities offering considerable advantages when working upon an old property. His work is to a very good standard, carried out on time and represents good value." Mike Baines mike.baines@qparchitecture.com

"This is an extremely welcome opportunity to make a public attestation to Charles Haigh’s exemplary skill & professionalism. We were most fortunate in being able to engage Charles’ services some three years ago during the first renovation phase of our 300 year old central Brittany home. He has since completed further key elements of the project and is commissioned to undertake more building work for us early 2007. His comprehensive knowledge of French building practices and regulations, combined with his craftsmanship and efficiency, mean that his charges represent exceptionally good value for money. He has our unreserved thanks and commendation." Geoff Farrow geoff.farrow@gmt.as

"Much of the building of our new extension was carried out in our absence by a variety of tradesman. Charles proved to be an excellent “unofficial” clerk of works even though this was not in his original remit. His tenacity in the face of problems to help one achieve the desired result is formidable. Our building site was always left clean and tidy. We thoroughly recommend his services." PLUMBING & HEATING

ANDY EVANS  PAGE ON THIS SITE  Dept 22, 29 and 56

"When moving in we considered that we were fortunate to have been recommended to contact Andy Evans when we discovered that a major fault had developed with the pressurised water system. His response to our emergency was within the hour and the problem rectified within that day. He has since carried out various works for us since we embarked upon the renovation of our property in Bretagne. During this time he has demonstrated an appreciation of design, provided sound advice, charged reasonably and always worked to programme. This alone being a major consideration for us given that we are having to divide our time between Bretagne and the U.K. We have also become aware that their reputation is continuing to grow and this is borne out by the fact that his client base includes an increasing number of French nationals"    Mike Baines MBIAT Mike.Baines@qparchitecture.com

"We required a plumber with the proper French qualifications as this is important in France when having work carried out on your property, Andy Evans was recommended to us when we experienced problems with our house in Callac. Our initial problem was sorted within the hour quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed with the standard of his work and consequently gave him the work to update our central heating boiler. He fitted a timer and serviced the boiler to enable the system to work to our requirements. I have no doubts in recommending Mr Evans, as the work he has carried out has been done expertly and at very reasonable cost." Gerry Hanagarth gerry.hanagarth@virgin.net

"In November 2004, we bought our house in Callac and bought a new cooker from Gitem in Callac. After installation, we found that our gas system needed renovation and adjustments. The French owner of Gitem in Callac advised us to contact Andy Evans. We were kind of surprised that a Frenchman advised us to go to an English artisan but Andy proved to be a real professional. We have since had some other problems which Andy either takes care of himself or brings in other professionals. We decided to have a fence and a safety gate and engaged a specialist but never have received a quotation. We turned to Andy and within a few weeks the high quality fence and gate were ordered and fitted. We now only engage Andy Evans for all kinds of artisan activities. We wish we also had an Andy Evans in the Netherlands.
Hetty and Jacques Lemmen jacques.lemmen@dhl.com

"I have employed Andy Evans on many occasions and have found his plumbing and minor building work of high quality. I have always been entirely satisfied with the results. Furthermore, he is reliable, punctual; clean and tidy in the execution of his work."

CARPENTERS
DECREM   PAGE ON THIS SITE  Dept 56

Decrem were recommended to us by our friends who were employing them in a loft conversion and, seeing the work in progress, we were impressed by the high standard of workmanship and cleanliness. Subsequent to an initial inspection, John was able to translate our jumbled notes into an impressively detailed specification and plans. He came up with plenty of creative suggestions which we found to be valuable reality checks against our ideas and designed an excellent 1st floor layout for the bedrooms and bathrooms using his CAD system.  Decrem used quality materials throughout the renovation resulting in an excellent finish. We were very impressed with John and especially his boys – they worked quietly, professionally and harmoniously together as a team. They were meticulous in their workmanship, attention to detail and cleanliness. We would not hesitate to use Decrem for future work and can heartily recommend their services.
